My Teaching Philosophy

As a future teacher I firmly believe that it is important to look outside the square, well beyond the academics and the curriculum.  In doing so, a successful and thriving learning environment will undoubtedly emerge. I strongly believe that creating a vibrant, supportive and most importantly, a fun learning environment for children is crucial. Long gone are the days of rote learning and tedious education. We are now in an age where the focus is on educating our children in the most effective way possible and where we can create a fun learning environment through the use of ICT and other practical means. Fun learning environments create memorable experiences in the classroom and as a result, students develop lasting knowledge of what they have learnt.

Additionally, I firmly believe that teaching is not only about guiding children academically, but gently encouraging them to build upon lifelong skills. Children need to be taught skills such as social skills which will not only assist them in school, but also outside of school. Hence, I consider teaching to be much more than the name suggests and about assisting childrens’ growth and development in a wholesome manner.
